What is Delta-8-THC?

Delta-8 THC is one of the most talked-about cannabinoids recently, that is found in the cannabis plant. Furthermore, like other cannabinoids, it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system – specifically the CB1 receptor of the nervous system – to produce a psychotropic effect. It also interacts with the nervous system similar to Delta-9 THC. As a result, causing feelings of euphoria and uplifted mood, as well as feelings of calmness and relaxation.

Our Delta-8 THC is an isomer of CBD, which in other words, is a process we use in our lab to convert natural CBD Isolate into a concentrated form of Delta-8 THC oil.  While many people want to call these cannabinoids “synthetics”, that’s certainly not an appropriate name for them. “Conversions” or “derivatives” in other words, would be the more appropriate name. What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, a naturally occurring phytocannabinoid found in hemp, and is usually present in the highest concentration. However, it is just one of over a hundred of different cannabinoids and phytochemicals found in the hemp plant. CBD is a non-intoxicating component that has a wide range of beneficial properties for mental and physical health. It is non-psychoactive, so it does Not cause a “high”, unlike THC.

 

What is CBG?

While you may not have heard about CBG, humans have reaped its benefits for millennia, in both cannabis and hemp plants. It was first synthesized in 1964, alongside THC, and has been studied extensively for its medicinal potential. It’s often called the “mother of all cannabinoids” because without it, cannabis would have no high.

Despite its paltry numbers in mature weed buds, when isolated, CBG demonstrates a number of benefits to the human body.

CBG, like CBD, is non-intoxicating and does not impart a high, despite its connection to THC. Research indicates it can bind to both CB1 and CB2 receptors within the body’s endocannabinoid system, meaning it not only interacts directly with the body’s internal systems, but can also counteract the effects of other cannabinoids, such as THC.

Both CBG and CBD have different molecule structures, neither of which have psychoactive properties, unlike THC.

CBG is the original source of CBD but can be extracted before it’s synthesized into the compound CBD.

So why choose CBG over CBD? It’s commonly argued that CBG is more powerful since it’s a precursor to all other cannabinoids. People want results, and CBG delivers.
