The countless benefits of CBD are nothing short of a miracle. The wondrous hemp plant has taken the world by storm. With the increasing demand for CBD, there is now a significant need to increase the production of its many different products and supplements. CBD or Cannabidiol is only one of the many different cannabinoids derived from the cannabis plant – or marijuana. It is the non-psychoactive part of the plant, meaning that it does not produce any high, and is commonly used for health remedies. CBD has the ability to play a significant role in combating many aliments and symptoms that go with them such as: chronic pain and inflammation.
Types of CBD:
There are three main types of CBD tinctures:
-
Full Spectrum: This type of CBD is the most pure, unprocessed, unfiltered hemp extract, rich in photo-cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. It is the truest form of CBD with the highest amount of healing properties. Beware of tinctures labeled full spectrum that are clear or mostly see through in the dropper!
-
Broad-Spectrum: This is largely considered a full spectrum tincture, but it has been further refined to remediate THC. During this refinement process many beneficial components of the natural full spectrum oil such as terpenes and other cannabinoids are removed. Yet, these components can be added back into the final product giving you a mostly full spectrum CBD oil with 0% THC. Typically, light brown to clear in a tincture form.
-
Isolate: CBD isolate is cannabidiol in its purest form– a crystalline white powder. Unfortunately, without the combination of all the other terpenes and cannabinoids most users will not feel the same benefits nor get the entourage effect from using a full spectrum product. Do not count this powerful substance out yet, as it has been reported to pack a punch when combatting pain, inflammation, and stress.
CBD Tinctures:
CBD tinctures are the go-to product because they generally consist of a higher concentration of CBD. In the past they were commonly made of 60%-70% alcohol which was infused with CBD oil. While you can still find a few made this way, the more common and acceptable way they are made today is to use a carrier oil such as hemp seed or MCT oil instead of alcohol. They are used for the many “fast-acting” benefits of CBD tinctures, elevating your mood, relieving anxiety, and pain management being the top-most. This form of CBD has a long shelf life when infused with MCT oil, typically two years. Using the dropper to place a desired amount of CBD under their tongue users at times will feel immediate relief as CBD can be absorbed sublingually.
Other Forms of CBD Products:
As the demand for CBD increases, the forms in which CBD are available also widens. It is available in the form of gummies, chocolates, capsules, powder(isolate), vape cartridges, and patches. You can take a dosage recommendation from your doctor or trusted health care provider and use the form that best suits your issue.
